Faster More Creative Buildings Start Here!

The CSSBI represents Steel Building Systems (SBS) member manufacturers and helps spread the word about the advanced features and benefits of these systems. Today’s SBS are very different than those on the market 10, or even 5 years ago. The CSSBI works diligently to challenge and change past perceptions that builders, owners and architects may have toward SBS. The CSSBI educates these stakeholders about using SBS to achieve more creative structures and build them faster than ever before.

Steel Building Systems have been referred to as pre-fabricated or metal buildings. But today, they are much more than that – they are aesthetically suited for many applications – more than most people fully realize. Through advanced software and in-plant technology, SBS are computer generated, customized systems that are specific and responsive to the needs of project owners, architects, and builders alike. They consist of interacting and interrelated steel elements that work together to form extraordinary structures that are aesthetically pleasing and energy efficient. SBS often feature structural steel and cladding components, as well as a whole world of other building materials that are engineered to work together as an integrated building system.

The advanced benefits of SBS include:

  • Highly functional, aesthetically pleasing structures
  • Unparalleled design flexibility making every project unique
  • Wide range of sizes customized to specific needs
  • Faster erection for faster occupancy
  • Designed for ease of expansion
  • Highly competitive life-cycle costs
  • Contributes to LEEDS certification
